The Law of the Republic of Belarus of October 11, 2024 No. 33-Z "On accreditation in the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus" was adopted

The Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Accreditation in the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus" (hereinafter referred to as the Law) defines and specifies the grounds and terms for accreditation and consideration of appeals.

The basic rights and obligations of the applicant for accreditation, the accredited entity, accreditation experts, technical accreditation experts and others are established.

A new participant in the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus has been introduced - appeals commissions. Requirements have been established for the procedure for making decisions on accreditation and the grounds for making decisions on confirming competence, refusing accreditation, suspending, canceling, and renewing accreditation.

A closed list of cases of reducing the scope of accreditation and canceling accreditation has been formulated. The procedure for updating the scope of accreditation has been clarified and partially simplified.

A transition to a registry model for confirming accreditation is envisaged. Law No. 33-Z of October 11, 2024 "On Accreditation in the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus" will enter into force one year after its official publication.

At the same time, it should be noted that the Law provides for transitional provisions stipulating that accreditation certificates issued before the law comes into force will remain valid within the time periods for which they were issued.
