BELLIS participation in the work of the 7th General Assembly of ETICS

 

BELLIS participated in the 7th General Assembly of ETICS (European Testing, Inspection and Certification System) held in Athens, Greece.

Within the framework of the ETICS General Assembly, organizational issues were considered - statistics on the work performed were discussed, two new committees were introduced: on marketing and communications and on production inspections, the organization of work during the COVID-19 pandemic and after the lifting of restrictions was considered, changes were made to procedures, the organizational structure of ETICS is given in accordance with the IECEE structure.

Also, the General Assembly considered new areas that are planned to be included in the scope of ETICS, such as:

- smart energy measurement and distribution systems (smart grids)

- smart metering systems for electricity, gas, heat and water

- safety and quality of batteries and Li-Ion batteries

- energy efficiency/energy labeling for all product categories covered by EU Regulations

- charging stations for electric vehicles

- information security, including cybersecurity (commercial software, links to ECSO work, cybersecurity aspects for electrical products, systems, consumer products, cloud security for managing systems of connected devices, cybersecurity type 5)

Particular attention was paid to the results of supervision in the European Union market. Recent studies have revealed that 58% of electronic/electrical products do not comply with the European Regulations/Directives. Currently, the European Commission is taking steps to tighten customs and market surveillance at the national level and to increase the use of electronic systems RAPEX and ICSMS by member countries of the European Union.

BELLIS has been an Observer in ETICS (HAR Cable Certification System) since 2014. On 04/25/2017, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ETICS and BELLIS.

Preparations are currently underway for BELLIS to join the CIG Inspection Scheme, which is a multilateral inspection agreement set out in the CIG MLA approved in October 2020.
