The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), founded in 1906, is the world’s leading international organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies and operates 4 International Conformity Assessment Schemes - IECEE (Electrotechnical Equipment and Components), IECEx (Equipment for use in Explosive Atmospheres), IECQ (Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components), IEC Re (Equipment for Use in Renewable Energy Applications).

Close to 20 000 experts from industry, commerce, government, test and research labs, academia and consumer groups participate in IEC Standardization work.

The IEC is one of three global sister organizations (IEC, ISO, ITU) that develop International Standards for the world.

 

BELARUS IN IEC

Belarus is a Full IEC Member since 1993. Each country is represented in IEC by its National Committee. Belarus National Committee in IEC – is State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus. Secretariat of Belarus National Committee in IEC – BELLIS.

Belarus actively participates in IEC activities, both in standardization and conformity assessment (IECEE) sectors.

In 2015 Belarus hosted 79th IEC General Meeting
